Summer at Whisperwood

Guests can watch the beaver working on the dam, listen to the haunting calls of the loon, and enjoy the antics of the visiting otter family. We have seen moose swim across our lake and deer roam the trails. We are also home to fox, snowshoe hare, raccoon, grouse, hawks, ravens, blue heron and lots of songbirds. Our friendly chipmunks are always a source of entertainment.

We supply a canoe with personal flotation devices and paddles for each cottage. There are 2 pedal boats and a 2 person kayak as well. Many guests explore Lake Manitouwaba or Lower Fry's Lake with the canoes.

We also supply propane barbecues, an outside firepit, firewood, a sand badminton court and badminton rackets and horseshoe pits.

We have constructed three cozy cottages at Whisperwood. We carefully selected and milled our own pine trees for the natural pine, wavy siding and wooden floors to give the cottages a quaint, yet comfortable, look. Each cottage has two bedrooms and comes fully equipped. Pillows and blankets are supplied, but you do need your own bed linens and towels. Each cottage has a beautiful view of the lake and is surrounded by trees and natural vegetation. The living space is extended with a large deck and screened-in Muskoka room overlooking the lake.

Guests swim from the end of our dock where the water is quite deep or they take a five minute walk to a small, pretty sand beach and large, shallow sandy bay on Crown Land in Lake Manitouwaba.

For the fisherman we have perch in our lake, bass in Lake Manitouwaba and Lower Fry's Lake is known for its pike.

There are more than two kilometres of trails on our property for hiking or mountain biking. As well, the nearby Seguin Recreation Trail is a popular trail.

Camera buffs will find countless opportunities to catch rugged, yet beautiful scenery on film. We have had paintings of Whisperwood on display at various art shows.
